This is a bit out of the way but OK if you are touring the area. A rather faded Edwardian large hotel that is in need of a bit of renovation and redecoration to bring it up to standard. Our room was a bit small and showing its age. The staff were friendly

Very disappointed with our stay at the Webbington Hotel Although the bedroom was clean and tidy, it was cramped at the top of the old part of the hotel, presumably the old servants' quarters. The shower has black mold in numerous places within it and rust. A wedding was taking place during our stay, which made it difficult to find a place to sit. The main restaurant was also taken over by the wedding, so we had to go to a local pub for food. The quality of the furniture in the public areas was very poor and uncomfortable. The public area was also crowded with cigarette smoke from the wedding guests smoking on the veranda. The hotel definitely needs refurbishment; in my opinion, the advertising material is outdated and misleading, as the exterior is overgrown with plants and requires painting. I have to congratulate the staff who were working there during our stay; their work ethic was outstanding. Professional in the way they dealt with other guests who were rowdy and threatening.

Room was very clean and a pleasant stay. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, there is a damp musky smell in certain parts of the hotel, assume this is from leaks as some of the ceilings are water stained. The breakfast isn't worth £15 it's pretty poor quality and you have to book a 30 minute slot to use the pool. The WiFi signal isn't very strong in certain areas and kept dropping out in our room

Not the type of contribution I would have liked to make for my 200th review. However I review good or bad as that is the idea of the site. We decided to meet up with some friends for a quiet weekend at a nice hotel half way between us. This hotel was 50/50 and look very nice. So we booked for the weekend. When we arrived the car park was packed with wedding people. We checked in and was surprised we were placed totally opposite ends of the hotel. We asked why and they said the weddings guests had taken virtually all the rooms over the hotel. Surely two rooms could have been close??. Then disaster. There was absolutely nowhere for holiday guests to go other than be amongst the wedding guests. We could not get a quiet spot to talk or take a drink to catch up on our friendship. We were stuck with children running and shouting all around us, smoke filtering all through to the bar area, later followed by adult disturbance of loudness and drunkenness. We left the hotel and found a nice quite hotel and pub up the road for the rest of our day. Then on return we walked the smoke smelling corridor to our room and kept awake half the night from next door. As great admirers of Best Western (we are going to Best Wester Totnes in a couple of weeks) this was our worst ever experience of a B.W. in both UK and USA. We were so disappointed and had a lousy reunion with our friends. Had we been told a wedding was taking place we would probably taken another BW for our meet up. However I do want to state that the staff from the start with Katrina to the bar man to restaurant lady were excellent and very professional. They can not control a large amount of people hell bent on ruining normal guests holidays. So hats off to the staff and the excellent breakfast but such a disappointment overall. It has made me question how I book B.W. and check the facilities first. As for the hotel it has superb views which are breathtaking but the hotel is in need of some TLC. Keith Birmingham

Although this was booked as a late get away for a couple of days we found the hotel to be slightly over priced for what we got in return. Original buildings yes very nice, lots & lots of stairs so be aware if you are not very mobile. NO lift but you could always request ground floor accommodation. We had to request extra tea bags but then again we said NO to daily housekeeping only staying for the 2 nights. Staff and bar staff very friendly. Be aware this hotel is available as Wedding Venue, nice patio and ballroom area so could be busy on the days that you should choose, you might do well by just asking the question Any Venues on.? All in all a very pleasant stay ..thank you all.

This hotel has some lovely staff and a great location but has some things letting it down which is a real pity. The building has great character, it’s comfortable and the terrace has amazing views. The pool is good and clean and well organised but the changing room though clean needs the benches replacing. Our room was clean , comfortable and newly decorated while the bathroom was poorly decorated and needed a makeover. It was obvious though that in the daytime the bar wasn’t permanently staffed, with people multi tasking and teaching new staff at the same time. The food we had in the bar was adequate but not remarkable. All in all we liked this place but in school holidays it needs more of the well trained staff it has, an higher standard of food and a tidy up to get repeat visitors!

Quirky hotel with amazing staff. All the amenities were there you just had to ask or know where to look. Pool was fab. Changing rooms would benefit from spinner to dry costumes. Shame the sauna and steam room were a bit of a walk away but it was fine. Showers in gym area were great. Food was good. Breakfast selection could have some with fresh fruit but otherwise good. Outside area to sit was lovely.
